Marques Houston Live in Melbourne
For Melbourne lovers of R&B, Sunday April 24th sees one of the world’s finest, Marques Houston performing a one-off exclusive live showcase.
Bursting onto the R&B scene in his pre-teens with the group Immature, Marques Houston quickly became one artist to watch. With popular hits such as “Never Lie” & “We Got It”, it wasn’t long before the trio became a part of the ‘90s R&B phenomenon. Their success saw them appear in the popular comedy flick “House Party 3”, “House Party 4: Down To The Last Minute” and the television series “A Different World”. The group changed their name to IMx in 1999, and after releasing two more albums the trio went their separate ways in 2002.
Already a hit with the ladies Marques Houston, embarked on his solo career soon after, releasing his debut album ‘MH’. The album saw the release of a number of popular club hits including “That Girl”, “Clubbing” (feat. Joe Budden) and “Pop That Booty’” (feat. Jermaine Dupri).
Fast forward eight years and Marques has released a massive four R&B albums with ‘Naked’, ‘Veteran’, ‘Mr Houston’ and ‘Mattress Music’ and continues to release quality ballads and classics to this day.
On top of his musical success Marques Houston returned to the silver screen in 2004 playing the role of Elgin in the hit dance movie ‘You Got Served before trying his hand at the horror genre, starring alongside Omarion, in ‘Somebody to Help Me’.
Marques Houston will play a very special one-off live and exclusive showcase featuring hitslike ‘Favourite Girl’, ‘Circle’, ‘How Do I’, ‘Body’ and ‘Kicking & Screaming’, on Sunday April 24 in Melbourne. If you are a true lover of R&B this is one performance not to be missed.
