In a beautiful cosmic haze of melodic synths and deconstructed guitar particles, The Immigrant’s Capricorn EP arrives proudly atop a prowling beast of brooding drums & bass lines.
After the impressive impact with his debut single, ‘Through The Wire’, (with heavy Triple J coverage) and part post electro / part late night indie shindig sing-a-long, ‘Summer Of Love (She Said)’, The Immigrant returns once again with singer songwriter and childhood friend Danny Ross on the rest of the daring EP including title track ‘Capricorn,’ the urgently hypnotic ‘Fox In The Snow’ and lead single, ‘Day Out Of Time.’
The Immigrant began toward the end of 2010 as producer/instrumentalist Jon Henderson’s solo project, which has now evolved to see itself centered around Jon and super talented lyricist / vocalist & songwriter Danny Ross. Prior to this, Jon worked as a producer in Germany. The moniker coming from the nickname he acquired during this time. As a DJ, Jon has also enjoyed success playing gigs all over Europe, including: Space Ibiza, Sonar Festival Barcelona and tours of Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, England, Ukraine, Hungary and Poland.
The Immigrant has produced remixes which have consistently charted in the Top 10 ARIA Club Chart, for artists including: Art vs Science, Drop the Lime, The Only, TAI, and Jono Fernandez & Sarah McLeod. With these, they have set the stage for the release of their first extended player, ‘Capricorn’ and the forthcoming single off the EP, ‘Day out of Time.’ This comes with remixes from some of Australia’s finest including: International Dubstep export, Shockone and dancefloor destroyers The Only and Acid Jack.
